How long would it take me to grow my hair....?

Like hair metal style. Not really big poofy 80's Motley Crue style.

Watch Metalocolypse, the show about Dethklok (awesome band) and the guy with long blond hair that plays guitar. How long would it take to grow it that long ?

My hair is just over shoulder length and I have to like flatten it and such.

How long would it take ?

Should I get a bit trimmed off to make it grow faster ? or leave it ?

Your hair can grow up to 7 or 8 inches in a year depending on how you treat it. You don't need to get a trim if your hair is in good condition. The only benefit for trims are to stop split ends, it does not help hair grow faster. However, eating healthy does help increase hair growth. And conditioning your hair (you don't have to with every shower if you don't want to) does help keep your hair healthy and growing.

I have a couple of guy friends with the "metal hair". I'm really jealous because mine drys out quickly because I have to use a straightener and then I have to get trims and it stays pretty much the same length.

You should get it trimmed...to keep it healthy and all. Then, if you mean like the really long guys hair that...is like...long... maybe a month or two lol. Maybe 5 weeks? Just over a month.
