Hair straightning, please answer i want like 10 answers.?

OK so i have a straightner and whenever i straighten my hair its straight but REALLY poofy, i use like serums and stuff but it always turns out really big,i get perms cuz my hair is naturally really realy curly, is it just because i got a 50 dollar straightner....or just because im not doing something right?? do u have a chi? do they work good....i know that what my hair dressor uses right after they perm my hair..and then its like dead straight but after about a week i have to wash it and its back to normal...HELP, I DONT WANT TO GET A CHI AND HTEN HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.

There is no need to really go out a buy a really expensive straightner. I think that Vidal Sassoon straightners work really well. Just make sure you get one with a high powerage.

When I straighten my hair, I start from the bottom layers and work up to the top/front. Make sure you do small sections of hair at a time and you might have to go over each section a few times before it becomes straight.

It also helps if you shampoo with a good shampoo that silkens your hair like Biosilk. Also, try using one of Biosilk's smooth and straightening products.

If you still have some problems, try using a hot comb first and then a flat iron.

uhm, i think your hair is just really thick, because when you straighten your hair it volumizes (sp?) and that is why its so poofy

CHI straightens my hair great ( i have frizzy/poofy curly hair), only problem is they break VERY easily. luckily im getting mine fixed this week : /

Try getting a nice strightener.

Or

Take a blow dryer and even it out. Or just dont strighten it when you hair is wet or anything like that. Just Take a shower at night then the next day strighthen it.

Or

Just ask you hair stylest.

I can't figure out why you would perm your hair if it's already curly and then straighten it. I have naturally poofy friz hair but not curly. I do use a Chi. I don't know what I ever did w/o it. It's very hot though. I burnt my ear 2x's when I first got it. If you are over processing your hair though, you may end up with it snapping off with the heat from the Chi. Is your hair super thick or something?

chi straighteners are really great, another one is the paul mitchell straightener. a trick that i use because i have the same problem is i use smoothing serum and when i section my hair to straighten i use extremely thin vertical sections instead of horizontal. it really makes a difference for me

I used to have the same problem. It has a lot to do with the straigtener drying out and breaking my hair.

I use got2b crazysleek - hot smooth flat iron and blow dry lotion.

The lotion keeps my hair shiny, flat, and totally poof-free.

It also helps keep my hair from re-curling later on.

So yeah, it's pretty awesome :)

Maybe try an anti-poof serum cream and shampoo,then blowdry it then straighten it in thin sections this should take about 45-1 hr to do.Chis do work good.I use to have the same problem.And if this doesnt work ask your hairdresser.
