Big curls in my hair?

I have really long hair and i want to do big curls like Ashley Tisdales in my hair. But whenever i try to do them they turn out small and weird. Any suggestions?

I would suggest that you use a good volumizing gel with strong hold after washing and conditioning with a volumizing shampoo/conditioner blow your hair completely dry, and roll up with hot rollers. Leave in for 30 minutes, then carefully unwind the curls from the rollers. Allow to set for 5 more minutes before seperating the curls with your finges and using a wide tooth comb to fluf your hair a little. You will need the larger size hot rollers to do this, about 1 3/4 to 2 inches in diameter. It takes practice to roll your hair, but it is not hard, just make sure your hair is dry, start at the end of a 2 inch section of hair that you have brushed/combed out. Smooth ends of hair over the roller and keeping tension on it (pull down gently), roll under towards your head. the hair should be coming over the top of the curlers , not under (though that is not a bad look either, but over gives you a ton more body). Start at the crown of your head and place a row of curlers right along your part. Then place the curlers at random over your head, again with the hair wrapped so it comes over the top of the curlers. Get a friend to help if you need it, but you will eventually be able to wrap your entire head in 10-15 minutes, and then can work on your makeup while your hair and the rollers cools down. You will have to experiment as to how many rollers you will need. I have a friend with gorgeous waist lenth red hair, and she uses TWO full hot roller sets, with the smaller rollers being used closer to her face to give slightly tighter curls. You may not need that many, it depends on your hair's thickness. Also, if you find the curls not lasting as long as you would like, Biolage makes a curl setting spray that you spray on each section of hair as you go around your head with the curlers, before wrapping each section. It makes the hair a little stiff, but will keep the curl for much longer. You will only use your fingers to comb out the curls, a vent brush at the most but you will make it into waves if you run the brush though it, still pretty, but not curls. You can use a brush carefully at the crown if you want to smooth things down, but be careful. Finish with a blast of your favorite shine spray, and you are good to go! I hope this helps, you will love the way your hair looks!
